| Analyst in Action | This three day course provides the participant with a solid foundation of the methods, skills, and knowledge of the business analysis process and the tools and techniques used to successfully analyze system performance and translate business requirements to a solution that delivers the business results being sought. Participants will solidify their understanding of the business analyst role and the entire business analysis process, from defining the business need, analyzing and defining requirements, modeling the solution concept through to successful implementation of the business solution. | |

| Business System Thinking | This one day course provides the participants with an opportunity to develop a deeper understanding of business systems and the conditions required for optimal business system performance. The participant is introduced to systems thinking principles and how to apply them to any improvement initiative. Participants learn how to use system thinking principles and a powerful framework to quickly and effectively position their initiatives within the ‘big picture view’. | |
| Consulting With the Client | This two day seminar provides the participants with a good understanding of what is required to build trust, handle challenges and conflict that often arise in difficult or complex situations and use language skills and techniques to stay in control and maintain effective relationships. | Defining Business Need: The Ultimate Requirement | In this two day workshop, participants learn how to remove ambiguity from the business need statement and focus on the true value of the improvement initiative to be undertaken. Participants learn how to use critical thinking skills and techniques, and work with their clients to ensure the right problem is being addressed and quality information gathered about the business requirements, right from the start. Through extensive use of examples and case study, participants will learn what they can do to construct effective business need statements as well as ensure quality information is gathered about their client’s business requirements. | |
| Designing Development Support Programs | An excellent one day course for those who supervise business analysts or are undertaking the design and development of training and mentoring programs to take their team to the next level and increase the value of the services they provide to their clients. In addition to an overview of the business analysis service and the skills and competencies that will be required to deliver the service effectively, participants will have an opportunity to discuss approaches and best practices to creating environments that support the development of skills and competencies and necessary for the attraction and retention of these highly skilled individuals. | |

| Leading the Professional Business Analyst | An excellent one day course for those who supervise business analysts and want a deeper understanding of the business analyst position and the skills and competencies required to carry out business analysis services effectively. Find out what you should be able to expect from someone new to the business analyst position and from those that are operating at a fully proficient level. How will you be able to tell what level your business analysts are operating at? What will be required from you, as their supervisor to ensure quality of work is maintained while development support is being provided. Explore what it will take to support the business analyst at their current level and what will be required to support their development growth to a fully proficient or mastery level. | |
| Oil and Gas Dynamics | This two day course provides the participants with a great overview and insight into the oil and gas business, the business environment, key business drivers, and the issues and challenges being faced. Participants will solidify their understanding of the various functions and processes required to produce oil and gas and get the product to market, as well as the interrelationships between the core operational, governance and support functions. Participants build upon their understanding of the complexity and dynamics of the business and the implication and impact of those complexities to those providing support or services to the industry. | Project Management Techniques for the BA | This one day session focuses on providing the participant with an understanding of the importance of managing scope, risks, assessing issues and handling change requests, as well as a good overview of the tools and techniques fundamental to good project management. The participant is introduced to project management principles, techniques and tools used to manage their ‘business analysis’ or change initiative project and build a deeper understanding and appreciation of the project managers’ role within a solution design and delivery project. | |
| Solution Concept Requirements and Design | A three day workshop that provides participants with an opportunity to use and apply their knowledge of the business analysis process and gain hands on experience in analyzing current system performance and developing conceptual solution designs and functional requirements to address the business needs. With guidance from the workshop facilitators, participants will use and apply the principles, tools and techniques for effective business analysis to the case study presented. Using the solution concept document as a guide, participants will translate the conceptual solution design and requirements to the specification level typically required by the system design engineers and architects. |

Find out when to use them and some of the benefits and limitations of the use case in the business analysis and solution design process. |
